What We Built & Why
The N8N AI Post Publisher is a fully autonomous content pipeline built to eliminate the manual effort of discovering, writing, and publishing AI-related news to social media. Running on a daily schedule via n8n, it fetches the latest AI news, processes it with OpenAI, generates captions and visuals, and publishes across multiple platforms — all without any human input.
Core challenge solved: Staying consistently active on social media with high-quality, relevant AI content requires hours of daily effort. This pipeline reduced that to zero manual work while improving content relevance and posting consistency.
02 / How It Works
The Automated Workflow — Step by Step
The entire pipeline runs automatically on a daily schedule. Here's exactly what happens from trigger to publish — no human input required at any step.
n8n Cloud Scheduler fires the workflow automatically every day at the configured time — no manual trigger needed.
Fetches the latest AI-related news from trusted RSS/API news sources and retrieves a candidate article for processing.
Checks Google Sheets to see if the article was already published. If yes, triggers smart retry — fetches a new article.
Retrieves and cleans the complete article content — stripping HTML, ads, and noise — ready for AI consumption.
OpenAI generates platform-optimized captions for each social channel. DALL·E generates a matching AI visual.
Automatically posts to Instagram, Facebook, and X with platform-specific formatting and the generated image.
Generated images saved to Google Drive. Post metadata logged to Google Sheets for tracking and future duplicate checks.
If duplicate detected at step 3, workflow re-fetches a fresh article and restarts the pipeline — zero manual recovery needed.

Full article content is passed as context to GPT. Three separate prompt calls generate platform-specific captions — each with the right tone, length, and hashtag strategy for Instagram, Facebook, and X.
DALL·E — AI Visual Generation
A custom image prompt (derived from the article headline and topic) is sent to DALL·E to generate a unique, on-brand visual for every post. The image is then saved to Google Drive and attached to all platform posts.
Prompt engineering: Custom system prompts were crafted for each platform to ensure GPT consistently outputs captions in the right format — no post-processing cleanup required. The article content provides grounding to prevent hallucination.

Google Sheets — Lightweight DB
Every published post is logged with article URL, publish timestamp, and platform. This log powers the duplicate detection check on every future run.
Google Drive — Asset Storage
All AI-generated images are saved to a structured Google Drive folder — organized by date. Provides a persistent asset library for every published post.
